About

Our Approach

The De Filippis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization [EIN: XX-XXXXXXX] with a focus on working with those who experience financial, social, physical, emotional and other barriers to the natural world

Mission

  1. Promoting equitable access to nature and natural resources
  2. Inspiring environmental stewardship and conservation
  3. Focused philanthropy and grant-making at the community level to support kindred organizations in their work

To that end, our work revolves around a few key mission pillars:

Pillars

Access

We believe that systematic change first begins with equitable access to the natural world. We focus on working with those who experience financial, social, physical, emotional and other barriers, from first exposure to continued involvement

Connection

A deep appreciation of the natural world and connection to nature are the result of a personal journey that can only be experienced through doing. A sense of place and belonging is a birthright as a being on this planet, and should be free to discover for all

Wellbeing

We work to provide access to nature in order to promote social, physical and mental growth and wellbeing. We believe that engaging with the natural world and fellow nature lovers builds the community, confidence, life skills and resiliency to be happy and healthy humans

Conservation

The future of life on our planet is dependent on a passionate community of active and engaged global citizens. Through removing barriers to entry, we hope to inspire a new generation of environmental stewards and conservationists who can carry our shared goals into the future

Action

The challenges facing our world will not be solved by any one person or group alone – that’s why we engage with like-minded partners who share our vision. No single act is too small, and we value the power of strength in numbers. Our outreach helps would-be allies communicate, organize and get involved
